Hello Family & Friends:
Days 32-38: Montenotte
On May 2nd we said goodbye to Killarney and headed for the city of Cork, where we are posting up for a week at an Airbnb in Montenotte, about 15 minutes by bus from Cork City. I was not expecting Cork to be such a big city. Somehow I had this vision of a small, quaint Irish town. Boy, was I wrong!

Cork is the second-largest city in the Republic of Ireland with Dublin being the first. Driving into town I was reminded of Dublin, because Cork also features a river through the center of town.

On our first day we went into town and visited the English Market and roamed around looking for supplies. The English Market is a historic covered food market in the center of Cork City operating since 1788. It is a hub for artisanal, local, and exotic food.

The bakeries and chocolates were my favorite, of course. There’s nothing that draws me in faster than pretty dessert and chocolate!

This is our stop for Blarney Castle and Kinsale, as well as exploring the city of Cork and its famous sites. We only have one week here and it’s going to be busy!
Next up, a bus tour to Kinsale!
