Hello Family & Friends:
Days 11-31: Rathmore
On April 25th Robbie and I boarded another bus for a full day tour of the Ring of Kerry.
The Ring of Kerry is a renowned 179-km (111-mile) circular scenic driving route around the Iveragh Peninsula in southwestern Ireland’s County Kerry. Beginning and ending in Killarney, the route passes through dramatic coastal landscapes, mountains, lakes, and quaint villages like Sneem and Waterville.

Bog Village
One of the first places we stopped, Bog Village, where we saw the way the Irish lived a long time ago.
The Kerry Bog Village is an open-air heritage museum located in Glenbeigh, County Kerry, Ireland, along the famous Ring of Kerry. It recreates rural Irish life in the 18th and 19th centuries through authentic, furnished thatched cottages, showing how ancestors lived during the famine era.

Much of this tour was enjoying the coastline and the beautiful rolling green hills of Ireland. The Ring of Kerry primarily follows the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean around the Iveragh Peninsula.

Irish Landscape
We stopped in the small town of Sneem to stretch our legs and enjoyed the local shops and a view of the Sneem River.

Sneem River
Ladies’ View is one of Killarney’s best known scenic viewing points.

Ladies’ View
It was a beautiful day full of some of the best ocean and landscapes in Killarney.
See you next time when we visit Gap of Dunloe!
